Today I noticed a bite on my pinky. Right now its red and its not painful but it hurts a little and is itchy. There are 2 obvious puncture marks so I assume it is a spider bite, no idea when it happened though. I did read that flu-like symptoms can be a symptom and I have been sick for 4-5 days now. Any advice would be appreciated
i got bitten by a spider most likely on my pool deck. its on my lower back right above my butt. it left a little red bump and it doesn’t itch at all. what kind of spider could it have been??
Hey Guys My Name Is Hannah And I live In The Oregon Area, Last Night While I Was Sort Of tossing And Turning In My Bed, I All Of The Sudden Felt A Nasty Sting On my Arm, I Figured That I had Gotten Bitten So I tried To Feel For any sort of bug that could have bit be, but found nothing! I Left A Bump on my arm and I really didn’t look at it until this morning, it was very little but, fot some reason looked like a whitehead…….. it doesn’t hurt anymore so i popped it with a needle and now the area is swollen and red ……… Could this be a spider bite? Or Something Else?
Well I’m currently up due to what I believe is a spider bite on my right butt cheek. I didn’t notice anything till bout 4pmish when I was sitting playing video games I felt this sore, but I shook it off believing it was cause I’ve been sitting on it all day. However later on at like 8 I realized something was wrong because it was itchy, and that’s when I felt the lump. I first thought of a mosquito due to the rain we’ve been having. As I felt it though, It felt nothing like a mosquito bite. Now it’s 2:30 am and I’m having difficulty breathing and the swelling went up and the skin around it I a fleshy pink color, and my skin is normally caramel-like. I’m probably gonna call the ER cause I’m feeling somewhat dizzy now, and lightheaded. If anyone knows of these symptoms please tell me. I’m from Springfield, MA.

I noticed a horizontal line on my skin last night…work up this morning and it started itching very badly. There is a small black bruise next to it, and the scratch is now pussing and continues to be itchy. Any idea as to what bit me?

I got bit by something I don’t know what about 2 days ago. I have deep pain in my entire leg and the redness and swelling is getting bigger and bigger. Anyone know what it is and what I should do? I am also breastfeeding a 5 month old.
I found this bite on my neck today and it was not there
yesterday, so assuming it happened during the night?
This is just day one but I am going to keep track of it.
It actually is very hard, bright pink, and painful to the

I woke up one morning with a bite the first day it was like a mosquito bite (a little red circle) but with a black point in the middle and it burned me.
2nd day to 10 day: it was like growing and more red, inch, and burn.
11-12 day: it had like little skin bubbles and it burned more.
12 – 30 day (now) : it looks like an red oval (more big) , a little puffy, inch, and it burns if i touch it, and the black point that I had now looks like a little whole, and around it I have a red point that if i press down it hurts, and it it feels like hard, the oval is not soft IDK !!!!
And after a month I am still with that bite , it is in my one my hand’s fingers, and I don’t know what kind of insect bite me, cause I was sleeping and I didn’t feel it. But I had see many times in my room some orange ladybugs maybe was one of those insects or a Spider!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need help
I visited a walk-in clinic and the gave me anti-itch cream and a antibiotic cream but they are not working :( good.
SOMEBODY HELP!!!!! I noticed on my shoulder that there is a pus filled ring with a brown/blue scab in the center. I squeezed it and a watery substance came out through a small hole, as well as more blood and pus. It’s the same color as my skin and it hurts very bad. I notices this a few days ago and am still awaiting a call from my dermatologist. I’m not sure if it’s a spider bite or what, if not, I’m sure somebody can tell me what it is. I don’t want to die.
I was outside yesterday enjoying the warm weather (for once, it’s been a long winter) anyway and while I was sitting outside I got three bug bites. The first one is small, red, itchy, and it hurts. The second is about the size of a half dollar coin, red, and itchy but no pain. The third is just small, red and itchy. Could the first one be a spider bite? But also what about the second one? If anyone could help me find out what they are that would be wonderful.

I woke up this morning and was itching really bad on my arm. There is a raised white bump and two teeth marks on it, it keeps itching and it oozes a little, its pretty small about 1/8 of an inch.
i have a bite on my left index finger i woke up an it was there so i waited a few days now i been squeezing clear stuff out of it my finger is swollen i can see many lil white puss marks when i push on it they like in a circle about i stuck a pin in it a lil bit white puss like a pimple came out the lil hole look like that part of my finger now its got three lil black holes in it like in a tingle like the mi veda loca sign in it on my finger i went to the local emergency room a left i was waiting 5 hours so my lil friend gave me some amoxaclin i have been taking i am going to try to go in a hospital but im not sure what it is that had bite me i woke up an it was there no i don’t have fever or nothing but i want know what bite me it sounds like maybe some thing but i have no clue
I got bit by something in Louisiana. It started burning and itching and two days later became very inflamed and this blister formed. I have no idea what it could be. The first picture is of “day 3” and the second is a picture of “day 5.”

This story started with what I thought was a spider bite on my ankle that was very small, and I didn’t feel much. A few days later I noticed these dots up my shin from that point on my ankle. I was thinking something kept biting me. As it progressed that original area became a large red area surrouned by more of these things that look like little bites.
I took a closeup (sorry can’t upload it now) and it looks like my skin gets inflamed in little bumps like goosebumps, then I scratch and they develop into tiny scabs. It’s spreading so I made a doctor’s appointment for March 17th. It itches not badly, but I scratch once in awhile. The center part still itches a little. As you can see it has spread almost to the back of my calf now, and it started on my shin. Iit’s not painful, no puss or anything like that, just these little spots. I have no idea what it is. I bought a new foam bed about 8 months ago. I moved about 6 months ago and dragged my bed across the parking lot to the truck. I wonder if I picked up some kind of mites or ticks, or something. These bites are under my sock, so I don’t think I’m getting bit at work or in my car if they are bites. I am type 2 diabetic. My leg is slightly swollen from retaining water, that is normal for my leg. I’m not sure if that is causing the problem.
I would appreciate any feedback. I am in San Diego california, 46 years old, white male, I don’t do drugs, or smoke, or even drink. I am not the neatest, cleanest guy, but I change my sheets about once a month.

I’m feed up with these experts that say Spiders do not attack humans. That’s BS when I sleep I have woke to find Spider Bites on me. Sometimes I can feel them moving the hair or crawling on my head to get to the sclap and drink my blood… I’ve woke up sit up and felt them fall from my head to my back and crawling around. It’s hard to find them especially the Jumping Spider. But let it be known insects and bugs are normally drawn toward your hair such as bees and normally attack there. Yes, Spiders attack and hunt us while we sleep. I’ve been bitten while I sleep on my hand, butt, leg, back but, most attacks are to the head. Lets fight back and fog those guys!
By the way if you have like little spider webs in the ceiling corners of your home, that’s mits… FOG THEM! I don’t know about the eggs… or how soon you should FOG again…
By the way scientist said they could not figure out why Mexicans used designs in there bricks / blocks for their buildings thousand of years ago. It’s real easy Piss Ants are all over the place. They did not have RAID of foggers back then it was a way or effort to slow those Piss Ants from entering your building/home… with confusion.
If they would stop trying to be so smart the answers are sometimes really simple…
…A couple of weeks ago, I was bitten by a spider. I have no idea what kind. It bit me twice. There were 4 little holes. It got a little red, and, a little tender, but, that’s about it it.
Now it’s looks nasty, but, still very little redness, and, or pain.
Anyone have any ideas, to what kind of spider, and, why I was fortunate enough, to get off with very few symptoms. Don’t get me wrong, I am so glad it wasn’t any worse. My nephew had one a few weeks ago. He had to go to the Doctor, and, get meds.
Anyway, would appreciate some input, if anyone is familiar with this.

Hi. Yesterday when I got home i realized that my ankles were really itching me. I took off my sock and on my right foot just found a mosquito bite, but on my left I found a red and very itchy spot. its not exactly sunken in but it looks like the top layer of skin has been eaten away.
I get really freaked out by spiders and sadly i think it was a spider, but i cant seem to find it on any website. i put NEOSPORIN and TEA TREE OIL on it and covered it with a band-aid. but today i noticed that it got more irritated and a lot redder. When i put Hydrogen-peroxide on it the SKIN bubbled up. almost like it got under the other layer of skin.
I’m really freaking out here. i don’t want to die or anything.

I find keeping a flea collar in the bedding usually keeps the spiders out. When I got my bad bite, my arm was outside the covers. My post on that seems to have been pulled. Any reason?
BTW I am amazed at all these posts seeing that Nova basically said almost no N. American spiders were capable of biting humans. They should read your postings!
I was bitten at night. The pain was so intense it woke me from a sound sleep. There were three pairs of fang marks. It began as very painful. I immediately swabbed the bite with peroxide. In abut 12 hours the most intense burning itch developed.
I had a singing performance to do so I couldn’t get attention although I had informed my doctor.
In 24 hours I had massive swelling of the whole top of my arm and a large, red vein area. I continued to treat the symptoms with coricosteroids and antihystamine. The next day the symptoms
had started to diminish so I never got medical treatment. The spider appeared to have been a very ;large house spider. I
would have suspected the brown recluse but it was definitely that greyish-green of the house spider. Is it possible they are interbreeding? After killing it I did not eceive any fyrther bites (TBTG!)
i have been bitten by some bug or spider about 12 hours ago, an inch and half in width hand is swollen, also the severe burning pain is traveling through my leg, anyone know what i might have.

Just a guess, but 70% or so of these posts are MRSA. A resistant form of a Staph bacterial infection of the skin. I had MRSA in 2004 and seeing these pics and reading these posts made me realize how uninformed most of our Doctors are when confronted with the fact that…#1 Spiders do not seek out people to bite, even our poisonous ones (recluse/widow)…#2 If someone gets bitten, (unlikely) the patient should provide sufficient evidence, (spider carcass, photo, witness, etc.) because the likelihood of not knowing the time of bite is slim because of the immediate pain of recluse/widow bites)…#3 we are at the tipping point of an epidemic of CA-MRSA and if we don’t have an education program in place for the public and the medical community soon, we may continue to make Staph even more resistant because of the repeated misdiagnoses of this very dangerous infection. (I live in Shreveport, Louisiana and have lived around both types of poisonous spiders in large quantities [shed had 75+ Black Widows that I sprayed in Aug] and If you’ve ever seen Billy The Exterminator on TV, you can understand why we are a little less skittish of Arachnids than some of our other critters.) Anyway, please take care of yourselves and always go to the Hospital. (I didn’t and almost died), and be careful about spreading MRSA through contact (I contracted my case from a girlfriend’s borrowed razor.{She was diagnosed with a spider bite}.

I live in southern CA, and I woke up a couple days ago to find a small red spot with two tiny fang marks at the top of my chest. It was sore to the touch the first day, but it’s been three days and it doesn’t hurt anymore. During the first day it looked like a little red zit, but since then one of the fang mark spots has swelled and formed something that kind of looks like a small dry whitehead. I’m not sure if I should be worried, as I’ve done some reading in the past and found that many spider bites start out looking like a harmless pimple, only to turn into something much worse. Please let me know if I should be worried, and if you have any tips on what I can do. I don’t know what bit me as I have seen several types of spiders around my house.
I was sitting on my couch 3 minutes ago and i felt something moving on my leg i thought it was a mosquito so by default i smacked it and it started stinging beyond belief a couple seconds later i looked down and there were 2 small punctures (not gonna call ’em bites since i don’t know) and in like 2 minutes it has flared up, red, itchy, burning pain and there is a massive bulge around the 2 punctures.
i am worried being a tv addict i wrapped a tea towel around the leg slowing flow but i REALLY NEED HELP!!! should i call an ambulance?
I’m pretty sure I got bit by a spider. It happened in my bed while I was trying to go to sleep. I went to the doctor after a week because it wasn’t getting any better. They lanced the abscess and cleaned the infected area. Its been couple days since I went to the doctor. Now I got a little fever (100), splotchy red skin on my face, stomach, and feet and I wouldn’t call it pain but my leg feels a little different. I don’t and can’t afford insurance right now as I only have a part time job. So if anyone thinks that I’m just getting a cold and I’ll get over it then cool, but if anyone has heard of these symptoms worsening to the wound on my leg then your information would be deeply appreciated. It’s a tiny hole the size if a needle stick. With redness spread about 4 inches wide with a core around it on the inside. Got bitten 2 day’s ago on Feb. 6 2011. I want to know if anybody have an idea of what type of spider bit me and should I seek medical help.
I think I got bit by a bug or spider a few days ago. I have no clue what it could be but I have a red lump right on top of the vein in the crack of my arm (opposite my elbow). It hasn’t gotten much worse since and kind of just feels like a hard lump pushing on my vein. what is this?

I awoke this morning and found a small, red-ish, upraised circle on my leg, near my knee. It has a little dot in the middle that is a bit bigger then that of a pencil tip. It looks like the inside has a fluid that is red (but it looks different then blood). I live in Virginia and there aren’t many poisonous spiders besides the brown recluse and black widow, but I have a terrible fear of spiders and am in need of some *hopefully* reassuring help……. It itches a bit, but besides that I can’t really feel it. It hasn’t been more then one day and I’m only a teenager. I’d rather not die today……..
Well I woke up In the morning and I notice I had an itch right on my behind I looked at it and I noticed it was red and that it had 2 dots I knew for sure it was a spider bite it’s really red and itchy even the lightest touch it hurts I live right next to a lake so theirs all kinds of spiders but I still haven’t gotten it checked out all I have been doing is laying down and taking benidrill holding it will go away but it hurts really bad what should I do
I got bit by something.. I’m sure it was a spider on my forearm. at first it looked just like a risen zit I call them underground zits or maybe an ingrown hair.. but thicker than an ingrown hair. It took me a long time to notice it i noticed it about 7pm. and it wasn’t anything big.. I have no idea how long it was there.
but later about 10pm it started to swell real bad got a fever on the spot. the tissue in my arm was really tight and the bite came to a tip and is still that way. its been 6 days. the swelling went way down after I put ice on it. it was swollen for 3 or 4 days the whole area around it was super tender. by day 5 the fever was gone and the swollen down all the way and the tissue has loosened up a lot and its still red around the area not super bright red anymore but its starting to itch real bad…please help.

hello, i woke up a day ago from today with big welts that Looked Like mosquito bites & they itched. i itched them a little but i put some anti itch ointment on them & this morning i woke up and now its just a big swollen spot with the mosquito bite marks still there .. here is a picture of what my forearm looks like as of now ..
i been putting anti itch cream on it & now im taking allergy pills for them too . any advice ?
I think I have recently been bitten by a type of spider. Something dropped on my head whilst I was grooming my horse in the late evening. I just dismissed it as I couldnt see anything & did not feel anything bite. A week later my head looks like the picture (if it loads ok).
It has not really itched but been prickly given me violent headaches and the swelling got so bad I had to visit the doctor who prescribed antibiotics as he said it was infected. I have never had marks like it they seem to be getting larger & are resessed into the skin & blood red but not like a usual scab. If anyone has any advice I would be grateful.

I received what I assume was a spider bite (have not been doing any outdoor activity as there has been 3 feet of snow on the ground) over a week ago on my right hand ring finger. Initially it was very itchy with minor swelling. Now, my finger is three times the size it was and the other fingers on my hand are beginning to swell as well. The bite spot has not blistered or broken the skin. It appears to be a white blister beneath the surface. It is painful to the touch and I cannot bend that finger. The hand is colder than the other as well. I’ve been taking Benedryl but it doesn’t seem to be helping. Should I be concerned?
Hello my name is Betty. I have no pictures but last august my 13 month old got some sort of bite on her hip. It looked kinda like a mosquito bite at first. She was cranky so I thought she was teething well like 2 days latter her dad noticed it grew we went to the er they gave her benadryl thanking it was a bee sting. Something didn’t feel right. 2 days latter she when to the er again this time in another town it grew to about 3 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches wide. It took 3 people to hold my little 13 month old still the er doc cut a hole in the abscess about 1 inch long and it was full of nasty stinky puss.
That was the beginning of like a month of bad stuff. I had to keep getting it re packed with gauze and changed her dressing ALOT. Shes healed up now and has a nasty scar. But here we go again her dad got one on his neck this time the ER doc said it was a spider bite they had to cut it and drain it. Looking at the pics I’ve seen it looks like a hobo spider cause I’ve killed one in our apartment. I don’t know if maybe you can email me some pics of what a bite like that can look like cause when i sat at the er their were 3 more people with the same thing. The top was brown with the other half white the legs were brown. I killed it and didn’t take pics I wasn’t thinking about it at the time.
Lately I have been finding little red bumps on my skin that look like mosquito bites but I know that cant be it because it is winter and there is lots of snow here. I have noticed that it is getting worse on my legs. This morning when I woke up I had one on my arm pit and it is making my arm sore when I move it the slightest bit. I am only twelve so I don’t know how else to explain it other that the fact that if I scratch it it starts to turn purple then the next day it looks all bruised. If spiders is not the case I got a new sleeping bag for Christmas and a tent and I have been sleeping in them for the past couple of days so I’m not sure if that is it. Also my dog has fleas and has been sleeping in my tent with me.
I’m not sure what kind of spider it was, but it was in a dress I had stored in the back of my closet and I felt it bite me. Then, the next day two tiny puncture marks were on my leg. Then the itching, like the worst mosquito bite ever. Then it got really red and raised, and a ring formed around it. About a week or so later the skin started getting dry and dying, but just in a nickel size area. Three months later I can still see where it was but it is healing- it looks all pink and dry still. There isn’t much to be done for bites, according to my doctor. Good to know, because since then I have gotten two more bites so at least I’m not wasting my time.
Guys you have to watch out and not mistake MRSA staph infections for spider bites. If you see fang marks (two close together), then you can be pretty sure it’s a spider. And it’s usually clear liqui. Staph will have white pimple type puss. Doctors frequently misdiagnose staph as spider bites if there is just one lesion.
But if you have two or more come up within a day apart, ask your doctor to culture the fluid. Not only that, but spider bites can also become infected with staph. We’ve had staph several times, and each time, it was the initial diagnosis was a spider bite, but I always insisted it be cultured, and always came back MRSA staph. They look a lot alike. The staph will also develop a flat scaly scab on it a few days in.
My brother and I had just finished coming back from dinner and decided to play some video games. Of course the controllers were in the basement so I went down the stairs into the basement and opened the door where the stuff was. As I went to grab them I felt something fall on my hand. I thought I just hit something until I felt a stinging aching pain in my right palm a couple of minutes after I went up stairs. My brother and I went to the doctors to get the venom removed before it entered my main systems. I then went back with my camcorder and again I felt something land on me. I lit my lighter and noticed a spider. I flicked it off and left back up stairs, I am never going in that basement again.
I don’t know what bit me. I was cleaning my vacuum out when I had this stinging paralyzing pain in my thumb. I thought nothing of it until about 30minutes later when I got a bottle of soda out of the fridge and my thumb started hurting, it felt like a cramp in my thumb. I looked at my thumb the area has a bruised colored mark around it with a little red spot wondering whether its a spider bite or not? It doesn’t seem to be bothering me now only when pressure is put on it.
I have these bites on my elbow. They have a big white dot in the center and red all around it. Are these spider bites?
About 2 days ago I noticed a quarter-sized, red raised circle on my 5-year-old sister’s thigh. She had been throwing up and the doctor said it was gastro something. Yesterday she had a high fever, and today her hands and feet are swollen and she has rashes on her body. Her throat also hurts. She’s still hungry, so she hasn’t lost her appetite, but she’s irritable and sleepy. Does anybody know what this could be? My parents took her to the clinic but they said she’s fine. Of course this was a doctor who has never seen her before, so he doesn’t know how she usually is or the normal size of her hands and feet, but I know they’re bigger than they normally are and a somewhat unusual color. Any help would be appreciated!
I live in Florida, and I’ve seen tons of spiders around my house. I never thought anything of them since I’ve never been bitten, but a couple days ago, I noticed what appeared to be a misquito bite or what i would normally think is maybe a pimple/blemish. But now it’s like a painful, swollen, hard lump. I can’t even touch it without it hurting. I noticed two marks in the middle where I suspect the spider bit me. But I can’t be sure. I’m not sure if I should put anything on it.

I have a now huge bite on my leg, it started out 2 days ago really small and tender. It looked like a spider bite then. Now its a space about the size of a quarter is swollen and hard, red all around it. It has a hole (with a black spot)in the center of the wound that has a little puss coming out. My whole leg is numb and I have a slight fever with nausea. I have spiders all over around my house and backyard. I guess maybe I should go to a doctor now.
I have a blood spot on my finger and looks like it traveled with a blue like color.

About 10 days ago I got bitten by a spider. Although it was a brown spider i am certain that it was not a brown recluse. It stung twice. The spider bit me on the back of my upper thigh while I was putting my jeans on. There was a spot that looked much like a mosquito bite for a few days. Then just a day or 2 ago the spot swelled up and became extremely itchy. I do not want to go to the doctor if at all possible. Do you have any suggestions on what i should do. I’ve been keeping it clean and the past few days I’ve put some antibiotic ointment on it without a bandage. There has been no change. Thank you for your help
I can appreciate the pictures, and the experiences posted here…and though I haven’t read the entire page, I find it counter productive to just read a bunch of posts with little to no confirmation if any of the pictures presented are spider bites. The only thing this page has done for me is raise paranoia.
I got bit by a spider last week and it’s really sore. I got bit on the chest and saw a spider run across my bed room floor. It was black /blue and red. It’s kinda painful and there is a big red mark on my chest with three scrapes down it
